Council for Rural Virginia

The Council for Rural Virginia  is one of  the remaining State Rural Development Councils. The Council's purpose is to bring together partners from all levels of governments and from private for profit and not profit  organizations to address the needs of rural Americans.

 
  National Rural Development Partnership

   NRDP Authorization Language - Originally part of the 2002 Farm Bill,  the NRDP was re-authorized in the 2008 Farm Bill on June 18, 2008.
   The Secretary shall continue the National Rural Development Partnership composed of—
              (A) the Coordinating Committee; and '
              (B) State rural development councils.
 

The Council for Rural Virginia is a Federally Recognized State Rural Development Council. There are 28 federally-recognized State Rural Development Councils.


PURPOSES
- The purposes of the Partnership are to empower and build the capacity of States

and rural communities to design flexible and innovative responses to their own special  rural development needs, with local determinations of progress and selection of  projects and activities.
