Rural Strategy - VA Rural Center is a uniquely structured group comprised of local government, state government, federal government, for profit and non profit business and organizations working together to meet the needs of the citizens of rural Virginia.  The Rural Center promotes collaboration and serves as a catalyst for economic growth for all Virginians.  And is leading a statewide Strategy to address the following key issues: 1. Reinvigorate community and civic leadership in rural areas to offset out-migration 2. Impacting job creation and expansion, workforce training and economic development 3. Qualify secondary education, specifically, in underserved rural areas 4. Promoting resource development, (broadband, energy, transportation) that includes all aspects of community life in rural regions 5. Ensuring access to acceptable and necessary health care services in rural Virginia 6. Supporting the creation of sustainable systems for natural resources, agriculture and energy production and consumption 7. Enhancing and preserving livable space, the traditional rural quality of life, and the countryside’s open space for future generations.
