Welcome
. . .
On behalf of the Board of Trustees for the Center,
Board of Directors for the Council and their Staff may I welcome you
to the first edition of
The Rural View,
our new monthly newsletter. The
newsletter is designed to showcase the Center/Council and our rural
partners that support our commitment to improve the quality of life
in rural areas of the Commonwealth.
The organizations are designed to generate creative
approaches to leverage resources that empower local civic and
business leaders to encourage cooperation across the state for the purpose of economic, social and
demographic revitalization of rural Virginia, while
retaining its quality
of life. Both the
Center and Council are 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organizations. The
Center is governed by an 18
member board of trustees comprised
of six legislative members and 12
citizen members. The Council
is governed by an elected board generated from its grassroots
partners and membership. ~ ~ ~
